This is Ai Otsuka’s 11th single and it was released on April 12, 2006. The single reached #2 on the Oricon Weekly Charts and sold 173,115 copies. The title track was used as the theme song for the TV show SPORTS Uruguzu.

If you’re wondering what Frienger means, it’s a combination of the words ‘friend’ and ‘ranger’. I really like this song because it’s really free spirited and cheerful. It’s just really because of the energy that Otsuka presents and the electric guitars are a nice touch as well. The lyrics are cute as well. Otsuka sings that she will be by your side, like a friend, and protect you, like a ranger, as long as you love her.

I was equally impressed with the B-side, Amai Kimochi Maru Kajiri. It doesn’t have the flair or energy of Frienger but it’s still good nonetheless. The chorus is my favorite part of the song because it’s extremely catchy.
