1. Bye Bye (バイバイ)
2. Bye Bye (Instrumental)

This is Ai Otsuka’s 19th single and it was released on February 25, 2009. The single reached #8 on the Oricon Weekly Charts and sold 17,485 copies.

UGH, RECUT SINGLES. I dread when J-pop artists release them these days because you hardly get anything new. Her first recut single, Kuroge Wagyuu Joshio Tanyaki 680 Yen, featured a completely new version of the original song plus 2 B-sides. You don’t get that or anything else in that matter with Bye Bye, a song that first appeared as track 3 on her latest album LOVE LETTER. I think this rustic pop rock song is alright, but it’s definitely not worth a single release especially when the album had better tracks. Oh well, what can you do? At least the promo pictures are cute! =D

A random thought: Otsuka should make a new version of Shachihata with actual lyrics and release THAT as a single. I would approve!

  2. Omg I totally agree! I usually can’t stand Ai’s nasally vocals! But Shachihata, that’s a song I would definitely pay for! :)

  3. yeah I don’t mind if she were to make an actual song with regards to Shachihata & Lex , the promo pics , single cover & the PV for Bye Bye were shot in California & yes it’s real pretty :D

  4. Shachihata was no doubt my favorite song on LOVE LETTER. She should totally release that as a single with real lyrics, that would be awesome, especially if she used that deep voice.

Although that’d be kind of hard to carry a tune with… Maybe?

  5. actually it’s 735 yen

  6. ^ I know, but the single version is 680 so I put that. ;D

  7. I love this single :)
I hope you’ll make review on Aya Kamiki too :)
