I think she’s really pretty!

Finally, an actress turned singer that I approve of. Unlike some “other people” (Erika Sawajiri and Meisa Kuroki lol), Chiaki Kuriyama can at least keep a tune and stay on key. Ryuusei no Namida was a good opportunity to show what she’s made of. The song can be described as a rockish pop ballad and I think it’s really good. As a singer, Kuriyama is decent and she keeps her voice pretty reserved throughout.
The B-side is titled Kekkei IN MY BED (how dirty! XD). This is an aggressive track with electric guitars. Her vocals are less gentle and more assertive so it’s a good balance to the A-side.
Pros: A great debut single! It helps that she has a nice voice, too.
Cons: Her vocals could be stronger but she has plenty of room to improve (I hope).
BASICALLY…keep it up, Gogo Chiaki!
