4. Good-bye days ~Instrumental~

This is YUI’s 6th single and it was released on June 14, 2006. The single reached #3 on the Oricon Weekly Charts and sold 241,491 copies. All the songs on the single were featured in the movie Taiyou no Uta, the title track being the theme song. YUI made her acting debut as Kaoru Amane in the film (hence the change of her stage name for this single).

Good-bye days is by far my favorite YUI A-side. She packs so much emotion into this song and mixture of acoustic guitar and strings is amazing. I also think YUI’s vocals are at their very best and she hits the high notes during the chorus and bridge with suprising ease.

The B-side is more upbeat (like all her other ones) and it is remiscent of her past songs. I didn’t like Skyline as much as the previous track, but this is still another great song. It’s definitely more cheerful than Good-bye days so it’s a good follow-up track.

I was surprised to see It’s happy line, YUI’s Indies song on this single. This is a good thing because it’s one of my favorite songs from her. It remains unchanged from the original version, but still a good addition to the single since the Indies single is pretty rare these days.
