2. Saisei (再生)

This is Salyu’s 5th single and it was released on October 26, 2005. The single reached #29 on the Oricon Weekly Charts and sold 6,854 copies.

I love the breezy electric guitars and piano that open Kaze ni Noru Fune. The verses maintain a calm atmosphere until the chorus arrives. This is when the stronger percussion and more powerful vocals from Salyu kick in. If you have listened to any of her previous works before this single, you will notice that this song shifts slowly into the pop realm.

The B-side is an ethereal, alternative rock ballad if that makes any sense. Saisei features the best vocals I have ever heard from Salyu because she puts more emphasis on the gentle side of her vocal range. As for the music, the combination of simple guitar chords and drums is great. This is definitely one of her best B-sides.
